Welcome to the “Excellence in Care Series”

We understand that a lot of businesses find it difficult to release all staff to attend training.  For this reason we are now running open courses at our training venue in Cheltenham to give organisations and individuals the opportunity to book onto a course with minimum disruption to the working day.

Our open courses are ideal for anyone working in the healthcare sector.  You can attend the courses as an individual or a number of your staff can be booked onto the course.  There are a maximum of 15 places available.

Catheter Care Training

Good catheter care involves good hygiene, observation, infection control, monitoring well-being and prevention of issues associated with catheterisation. This Catheter Care training covers all these issues to maximise the benefits and minimise the issues of catheterisation for your patient/client group.

By the end of the course attendees will be familiar with reasons for catheterisation, the equipment required and the theory of catheter removal.

Course Content

  •        Why Catheterise?
  •        Male & Female anatomy and physiology
  •        The advantages and risks associated with catheterisation
  •        Reducing the risk of infection
  •        Infection prevention and control procedures
  •        Selection of catheter drainage options.
  •        Catheter attachment methods
  •       Maintaining a closed draining system
  •        Obtaining urine specimens
  •        Removal of the catheter (theory)
  •        Positioning of the catheter (post procedure)


A certificate will be issued upon successful completion of course and is valid for 2 years.

Cost:  £48.00 per person which includes refreshments.
