Diabetes Awareness training course aims to teach attendees how to recognise the signs and symptoms of diabetes, signs of complications, to raise awareness of treatments and to build confidence in staff when caring for and supporting those suffering from diabetes.
Approximately 5.8 million people in the UK are living with diabetes, the highest number on record. This includes around 4.6 million diagnosed cases and an estimated 1.3 million undiagnosed. That makes one in five adults in the UK affected by diabetes or pre-diabetes — about 12.2 million people total
