This basic awareness course aimed at any employees who may support individuals with HIV and Hepatitis. The course will promote discussion amongst the delegates to increase the learning experience.
Course Aims
The aim of this course is to increase knowledge and understanding of:
- Transmission and testing
- Rates of infection
- HIV Treatment and issues
- Myths and facts about blood borne viruses
- Relevant legislation and guidance
If you apply what you have learnt on this course you will be able to:
- Acquire an up to date working knowledge of HIV and Hepatitis B & C infection and
transmission - Apply strategies for infection prevention and control
- Identify the needs of patients/clients living with HIV and or Hepatitis and ways to address those
needs - Demonstrate an awareness of the attitudes towards people living with HIV and how
these may affect service delivery - Recognise the response of professionals to people with HIV/AIDS or Hepatitis, their
families and carers
Certification
A certificate of attendance will be awarded to all learners who complete the course.
