An increasing number of children and young people with disabilities and medical needs are being included in mainstream, private, voluntary and independent sector settings. A significant number require assistance with intimate personal care, especially toileting.
Training is delivered to groups of up to 15 learners.

This Intimate Personal Care training is delivered onsite at a venue of your choice for groups of up to 15 learners and is designed to up-skill support workers/teaching staff to enable them to give the highest standards of care whilst ensuring the privacy and dignity of individuals being supported.

- Definition of Intimate Care
- Definition of Personal Care
- Principles of Intimate Care and Personal Care
- The Protection of Children
- Guidelines for Good Practice
- Treating children and young people with dignity and respect
- Infection prevention control
- Forward Planning with parents/carers and children
- Children and young people’s records
Learning Outcomes:Â On completion delegates will be able to demonstrate much improved awareness of intimate personal care and be able to support an individual.
Certification:Â On completion delegates will be issued with a certificate of attendance which is valid for 3 years.
Course Assessment:Â There will be continuous tutor assessment throughout the course.
