Outline of the Ligature Training course Cambridge:

We give learners more of an understanding regarding risk assessments, skills and knowledge to recognise ligature self-harm injuries and to safely remove someone from suspension using ligature cutters.  Learners will gain new skills and knowledge on how to recognise ligature injuries, treat a casualty and also to safely remove someone from suspended and unsuspected strangulation.

We always incorporate your policies and procedures to enable us to tailor the course to your specific requirements.

Why is Ligature Awareness training Cambridge and the use of ligature cutters important?

Having ligature awareness training and responding to incidents in a professional and timely fashion can and does save lives. Hanging is the main method of suicide for mental health service users and this may involve suspending the body from a high ligature point.  This can cause a fracture to the upper spinal column, or through asphyxiation or strangulation without suspension of the body, using a ligature point at or below head height.

What is Ligature Awareness Training Cambridge?

Ligature awareness training, also known as anti ligature training, is specifically designed for support staff who are supporting children and young adults who are at risk of attempting suicide or self-harm by a number of means including the application of a ligature.

Learners will gain practical skills and knowledge to recognise self-harm and ligature injuries, treat a casualty and also to safely remove someone from suspension.

Tidal Training will incorporate your policies and procedures accordingly to enable us to tailor the course to your specific requirements.

This course is not a train the trainer course.  It is designed to impart knowledge and skills to enable individuals who attend the training to respond the incident involving the use of a ligature.

Aims of the Ligature Training course Cambridge:

Ligature training is delivered to up-skill and empowers staff to recognise and identify possible ligature points and to help them implement control measures in order to support an individual who is at risk from Ligature.

Objectives:

Client Testimonial

I just wanted to let you know that your tutor came to deliver our training today.  It was excellent training.  He tailored it to our needs and the young person’s needs in particular.  The tutor facilitated the training in a way that generated discussion amongst our staff team, let it flow and input when required.

I have passed on my compliments in person but just thought I would let you know as well.

This is really excellent training that I will pass on to other agencies should they have a need as we do.
