This Diabetes Awareness and Insulin Administration course caters for those who are responsible for or working with people with diabetes to ensure you look after the welfare and well-being of patients/clients with the condition. This includes healthcare professionals not specialising in diabetes.
Insulin Administration Training gives healthcare & support staff the basic knowledge and hands-on skills they need to safely prepare and give insulin injections. Delegates will learn about the different kinds of insulin, how to store it correctly, how to give injections, how to safely get rid of sharps, and how to rotate sites. The aim of the course is to help people feel more confident and skilled in giving insulin safely, cut down on mistakes, and make sure that care settings like residential homes, nursing homes, supported living, and domiciliary care follow best practices.
Approximately 5.8 million people in the UK are living with diabetes, the highest number on record. This includes around 4.6 million diagnosed cases and an estimated 1.3 million undiagnosed. That makes one in five adults in the UK affected by diabetes or pre-diabetes — about 12.2 million people total
