✅ Professional Testimonial

Tidal Training Ltd delivered a tailored clinical training and scenario-based competency assessment package for the team at Abbeymoor. The programme focused on strengthening clinical confidence, supporting practical application, and preparing staff for safe, effective care delivery.

The training was received positively by both Advanced Health Care Practitioners (AHCPs) and nurses. Despite initial apprehension, particularly around practical components, staff reported that the delivery was supportive, engaging, and confidence-building. Trainers provided individual guidance, enabling learners to develop both technical skills and professional self-assurance in a structured, face-to-face environment.

Crucially, the programme bridged the gap between theory and practice. It gave the clinical team tools and time to consolidate learning, and reinforced their readiness to support patients and families without delay or external reliance.

🧩 Why Forward-Thinking Organisations Are Embracing This Bridging The Gap Model

In today’s care and clinical environments, the need for confident, capable teams has never been greater. This approach enables organisations to:

  • ✅ Accelerate skill application
  • ✅ Strengthen clinical confidence
  • ✅ Reduce delays in care delivery
  • ✅ Improve service quality and staff morale

By integrating training with immediate or next-day competency modelling, your teams are better equipped, your patients better supported, and your workforce more cohesive.

The Easy 5-Step Process

Tidal Training’s scenario-based competency assessments are designed to support staff from learning to live practice — efficiently, effectively, and confidently. We’ve created a flexible, structured training and assessment model that helps your team move confidently from theory to practice — all while aligning with your organisation’s needs and the realities of care delivery.

✅ The 5-Step Process at a Glance

  • Step 1: Choose your training format – face-to-face, webinar, or blended delivery
  • Step 2: Add scenario-based competency assessments – same day, next day, or post-webinar
  • Step 3: Use your competency framework – or we’ll provide a framework for you
  • Step 4: Complete practical, scenario-based classroom assessments with trainer support
  • Step 5: Learners take assessment documentation into the workplace to support live competency sign-off

Step 1:  Choose Your Training Format

We offer multiple ways to deliver the theory and practical elements of training:

Face-to-Face Training

  • Half-day or full-day sessions delivered onsite

Live Webinar Training

  • One or two remote theory sessions before practical training and assessments
  • Ideal for reducing time away from duties and optimising training days

Full-Day Combined Theory & Practical Training

  • One intensive day to cover essential knowledge and hands-on skills
  • Followed by a half-day scenario-based assessment session on a second day

Step 2: Add Scenario-Based Competency Assessments

We’ll deliver classroom-based scenario assessments based on your training format:

Same-Day Assessment

  • After a half-day training session
  • Efficient use of time and trainer presence

Next-Day Assessment

  • After a full-day theory and practical training session
  • Allows reflection and fresh focus

Full-Day Theory & Practical + Next-Day Half-Day Scenarios

A well-paced, in-depth model for services requiring comprehensive training

Webinar Theory + Practical & Scenario Day

  • Spread the learning over two or more days
  • Cost-effective and logistically flexible

Step 3: Competency Frameworks – Yours or Ours

All assessments are aligned with competency standards:

  • We’ll use your existing organisational competency framework if you have one
  • If not, we’ll provide a mock competency framework developed in line with best practice
  • 🗂️ The completed competency form can stay with the learner, supporting their progression to live workplace competency sign-off, if required

Step 4: The Assessment Session

Delivered in a structured, calm setting, assessments include:

  • Realistic scenarios based on clinical practice
  • Guided support and feedback from experienced trainers
  • A focus on confidence-building, decision-making, and teamwork
  • Clear documentation of progress and readiness

Step 5: What You Achieve

This model ensures your staff are not just trained — they’re prepared.

  • ✔ Reinforced understanding through immediate practice
  • ✔ Greater confidence and familiarity with procedures
  • ✔ Clear progression towards formal sign-off
  • ✔ Better outcomes for teams, patients, and families
  • ✔ Demonstrable commitment to training, safety, and quality care

⚠️ Important Reminder: Competency Sign-Off

These are mock assessments designed to simulate clinical scenarios in a classroom.

They are not formal competency sign-offs — which must still be completed in the workplace under real care conditions.

However, the competency assessment documentation can accompany the learner into the workplace and be used by supervisors or assessors to support and guide live competency validation.
