Stoma training teaches the importance of maintaining effective infection control procedures whilst providing privacy, dignity and respect for the patient/client.

Learning Outcomes
On completion delegates will be able to demonstrate much improved awareness of stoma care, the causes, needs and requirements
We will ensure delegates understand the importance of maintaining infection control standards throughout their tasks and that they privacy, dignity and respect for the service user is kept throughout.
Stoma Care Training Course Assessment and Certification
The assessment is completed with simulated practical assessments and on successful completion of the training learners will be issued with a certificate of attendance which is valid for 2 years.

1. Who should take the Stoma Care Training course?
This course is great for nurses, support workers, and carers who help people with a stoma. The goal is to help people learn more about stoma care and feel more confident doing it as part of their everyday work.
2. What will the stoma care course teach me?
You will learn what a stoma is, why someone might need one, and how to care for it in a safe and respectful way. It talks about infection management, how to put on, take off, and empty stoma bags, and how important it is to keep proper records and respect people’s privacy. There is also a session where you can do things yourself.
3. Will this class help me feel more sure about how to take care of my stoma?
Yes, without a doubt. One of the main purposes of this training is to make you feel more at ease and sure of yourself while working with someone who has a stoma, whether it’s your first time or something you do all the time.
4. Will I get a certificate after I’m done with the training?
Yes, if you finish the Stoma Care Training, you will get a certificate of attendance that is good for two years.
