This Personal Care Training is ideal to those who are new to care or staff who need to update their skiils. Learners will gain an introduction to the basic personal needs of those in their care and how we should provide for them. The importance of providing inclusive personal care is imperative.

“Personal care” is one of several terms used to describe one-on-one assistance provided to individuals of any age who need help with daily living tasks on a long-term basis. The term can be used generically to describe assistance with daily living tasks regardless of the residential setting in which the care is provided, whether or not the provider of care and the care recipient are related to one another, and whether or not the care provider is paid.

Objectives
- Provide baths, showers according to the service user’s unique needs.
- Provide mouth care, denture care, hair care, foot and nail care according to the service user’s unique needs.
- Adhere to basic safety, and standard precaution principles when providing personal care.
- Know the importance of recording and reporting
- Why Policies and Procedures have to be followed
Course Assessment and Certification
Assessment: There is no formal assessment for this course although tutor will gain understanding throughout.
Certification: On completion of the course the student will receive a certificate of attendance valid for 3 years.
Onsite Training Locations
