Safe Handling and Administration of Medication Training

This is a Level 1 and Level 2 course designed for healthcare professionals who may have to administer medication and need to either refresh their existing skills and/or wish to learn more about medication and administration.

The aim of this Safe Handling and Administration of Medication Training is to update or impart medication knowledge in accordance with your organisations policies and procedures.  The course is essential for nurses and support workers who need to safely handle and administer medication on a daily basis. This training package is highly recommended as an excellent standard for safe medication practices.

• Administration of medication
• Identify the  7 ‘Rights’ of medication administration
• Describe how to use a person centred approach in the administration of medication, whilst adhering to the Mental Capacity Act
• Demonstration of administering techniques

Course Assessment and Certification

There will be continuous assessment by the trainer.  There is an 18 question multiple choice quiz to check that students have reached the required level to gain their certificate which is valid for 3 years.
